BECOMING A FILMMAKER – THE HARD TRUTH ABOUT MAKING IT
IN LONDON By Krish Pinto – London BA Film Graduate.
Book available to order on Amazon.
It is rare to find a writer with the talent of chronicling a guide and
commentary so successfully and imaginatively as Krish Pinto. That
known, I have suggested to him that he might be good writing novels
and maybe a screenplay to go with each one. Krish reacted by
stating that AI is ahead of us writers – and can be programmed to
write novels and screenplays for us! However, I thought of this over
twenty five years ago regarding a novelist and former politician who
has been successful with his writing. I wondered whether he was
programming computer robots THEN to write his works. Rumour
was that he had over thirty researchers to write one of his works and
I had written a similar book myself based on my own research.
Anybody who wants to know about this FACT my number and email
is attached. This sentence is regarding the ex politician/novelist.
There are 200 sections itemised in the book – the reader will be
treated to a course of reading which includes Chapter 1 – Fuck what
did I get into? Leading to Attempts to gain experience in the film
industry and Film Festivals and Events – the best networking grounds
and The growth of film and where its heading. A full bibliography is
included at the conclusion of the book .
Anyone who is penetrating and finding work in the film industry
should find this book interesting and informative and also not
necessarily – like I did – find themselves out of their depth with
camera names for example, and the intense and varied background
to the making of great movies. This should be totally understood by
any film buff who has done a course or two.
Krish says he likes to learn from mistakes and share his experience
with others who have just started out. He’s been writing since 2019.
He says film school is not a red carpet and people do not always
know what it’s really like to be a filmmaker. The making of the film is
well BEFORE the glamour!
Krish finds his jobs on Facebook, Instagram and other social media –
he makes good friends with people on these networks and is ready –
as accounted in his book – to adapt and be as helpful or superhelpful
as possible so he gets invited back on future projects which includes
having to adapt at short notice on set.
My feeling is that Krish Pinto will go far in the future in film. Read his
book and see what he thinks about Becoming A Filmmaker – The
Hard Truth About Making it in London. Surely there’s plenty of jobs
for the boys and girls as the age of the lense continues to develop –
with or without the incredible AI!!
