India chasing a deficit of 311 runs closed 174-2, 137 behind thanks to a fighting back partnership between KL Rahul (87no) and Shubman Gill (78 no) who displayed resilience after surviving Woakes hat-trick ball and two huge lbw appeals from Jofra Archer, after tourists were 0-2 with Chris Woakes removing both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharshan for duck in consecutive deliveries in the first over of the Indian second innings. Stokes was forced to retire hurt with cramp during his batting on Friday, before resuming later on the same day.
