Iceland which has seen about 12 volcanic eruptions since volcanic systems on the Reykjanes peninsula, close to Reykjavik, erupted again spewing out streams of bright yellow and orange lava. Iceland’s meteorological office said “magma breaking through the Earth’s crust created large fissure estimated to be between 0.7 and 1km ( 0.4 to 0.6 miles) long.
