Jamie Smith 184 no and Harry Brook 158 enabled England to post 407 all out. Smith lead England’s fightback with an 80-ball century, after Joe Root and Ben Stokes fell in consecutive deliveries in the second over of the day. He shared a 303-run partnership with Brook who made 158. India with the second new ball, dismissed Brook and swept the lower order as the final five England wickets fell for just 20 runs. India’s Mohammed Siraj taking 6-70, so India took a huge first-innings lead of 180 and reached 64-1 in 13 overs before close extending their advantage to 244.
