England chase down 371 to beat India by five wickets and take 1-0 lead in five-match test series helped by magnificent strikes by Duckett 149, Crawley 65, Root 53 not out and Smith 44 not out.

England mad their second highest successful chase, 10^th highest of all time and second highest at Headingley.

England opener and Man of the Match Ben Duckett said “Incredible, what a Test match! It was a huge number of runs and we have been lucky with the weather. I am lost for words”.

England have become the first team in first-class history to win a match in which they have conceded  five centuries to the other team.

The second test at Edgbaston starts on 2^nd July.
