At the 66th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, Taylor Swift won her 13th Grammy Award for Midnights, best pop vocal album and announced she will releasing a new album on 19 April. She became the artist with most win in the coveted category with prior wins to tie up with Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder,Paul Simon. She previously took the award for Fearless in 2009, 1989 in 2016, and Folklore in 2021.

Stunned Taylor Swift accepted the award from Celine Dion and said “I would love to tell you that this is the best moment in my life but I feel this happy when I finish a song or when I crack the code to a bridge that I love. For me the award is the work. All I want to do is to keep being able to do this. I love it so much. It makes me so happy”.

Grammy Awards also went to five Indian musicians including tabla maestro Zakir Hussain who won three Grammys award for Shakti, best global performance for “Pashto”, best contemporary instrumental album for “As we speak” and flautist Rakesh Chaurasia picking up two. Singer Shankar Mahadevan,violinist Ganesh Rajagopalan and percussionist Selvaganesh Vinayakram, Hussain’s collaborators in the fusion group Shakti won one Grammy in each. Shakti won the Grammy for the best global music album for “This moment” featuring four Indians and British guitarist John McLaughlin which was released in June 2023.
