“ On January 16, 2024 a passenger got stuck in the Spice Jet flight operating between Mumbai and Benglauru, while the aircraft was airborne due malfunctioning of the door lock. Throughout the journey, our crew provided assistance and guidance to the passenger. Upon arrival, an engineer opened the lavatory door, and the passenger received immediate medical support,” it added.” according to a statement from the airline.

When the passenger tried to exit the toilet, he found that the lock was stuck.  All the efforts by the crew was in vain. The passenger was eventually rescued after the plane landed by the engineers. Spice Jet had expressed regret and apologised for the inconvenience caused to the passenger and said the passenger will get full refund of the air fare.
