Stuart Board retired from his glittering career by bowling England to another dramatic victory in the fifth Test against Australia to leave the Ashes series level at 2-2, but Australia retain the urn.

Broad took the last two wickets as England bowled out Australia for 334 to win by 49 runs in front of home crowd at The Oval London.

Chris Woakes  took 4-50 and  off-spinner Moheen Ali took 3-76.

Resuming on 135-0 Australia chasing 384, lost David Warner and Usman Khawaja to Woakes while Mark Wood took the wicket of Marnus Labuschagne. The visitors  restarted the run-chases with the help of Steve Smith 54 and 43 from Travis Head. After rain delay for more than two hours, Woakes and Moeen Ali started the Australian collapse of five wickets for 30 runs, although Alex Carey and Todd Murphy threatened with a 35-run ninth-wicket stand only for Broad to have the final say. Broad, switched balls at the non-striker’s end and next ball, bowled Murphy caught by wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow.

England’s 2-2 draw replicated draw of four years ago and preserves an unbeaten home record in Ashes series since 2001.
