Four-time defending champion Novak Djokovic (36) marches into Wimbledon semi-finals after beating seventh seed Andrey Rublev 4:6, 6:1, 6:4, 6:3 and plays Italy’s Jannik Sinner(21), on Friday 14 Jul at Centre Court. The Serb is bidding for a record-equalling eight Wimbledon men’s title. Last year in the quarter-final Sinner came close to beating Djokovic before the veteran fought back from two sets down to win.
“Any Tennis player wants to be in a position where everyone wants to win against you. It’s a privilege as Billie Jean said “Pressure is part of the sport and what we do, It’s never going to go way regardless of how many Grand slams you win or how many matches you have won or how many years you have played professionally on the tour the pressure is paramount. The pressure awakens the most beautiful emotions in me and it motivates me beyond what I ever have dreamed of and it inspires me to play my best tennis. I know that they wanted to win it ain’t happening”.
