
Manchester City won a third successive Premier League title over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium. City were confirmed as champions after Nottingham Forest’s win against Arsenal on Saturday, after Manager Pep Guardiola made nine changes from the side that thrashed Real Madrid to reach the Champions League final.
Erling Haaland was rested although Julian Alvarez made no mistake to put City ahead after 12 minutes. Chelsea too had some of the better chances, as City keeper Stefan Ortega saving from Raheem Sterling and Conor Gallagher heading against the post. Kalvin Phillips also headed against the woodwork for City as they closed out another win and they have chance of a treble with the FA Cup final at Wembley and Champions League final in Istanbul yet to come. Manchester City side have won the Premier League title in five of the past six campaigns. Manchester City topped the league table having played 36 games with a goal difference of 62 and 88 points followed by Arsenal with 81 points from 347 games.
