The Cupertino Tech giant Apple opened its first store in India, called Apple BKC, located in Mumbai’s financial hub inside the Jio World Drive Mall at Bandra-Kurla Complex, owned by billionaire Mukesh Ambani. Apple CEO Tim Cook has long held a bullish view on India said “India has such a beautiful culture and an incredible energy, and we’re excited to build on our long-standing history”. Apple did not open any Apple stores because of a myth that poor Indians could not afford Apple prices, and now the company is ramping up sales and looking to manufacture its flagship iPhone in India. Apple on Thursday will also open another store in the Indian capital Delhi. Apple is aiming to boost sales and manufacturing of iPhones in India in a move analysts think resembles its strategy when it first entered in China, now one of company’s biggest markets. Apple claims its Mumbai store is “ one of the most energy-efficient” locations in the world and has dedicated solar energy system and has zero reliance on fossil fuels for the store’s operations. Apple BKC runs on 100 per cent renewable energy
