Apple has agreed to pay £77m ($95m) to settle a court case aIleging some of its devices were listening to people without their permission. The tech giant was accused of eavesdropping on its customers through its virtual assistant Siri, as the claimants also allege voice recordings were shared with advertisers. Apple is accused of trapping and ripping off and locking 40m iCloud British customers into its iCloud service and charging them outrageous prices according to consumer group Which? Apple poaches AI staff from Google

Apple, the $2.7tn tech company, has poached dozens of AI expert staff from Google  to set up a secretive European laboratory, “Vision Lab”,  in Zurich for developing AI models for AI smartphones. Apple even acquired two local AI start-ups – Virtual Reality group FaceShift and image recognition company Fashwell, to power products such as Open AI’s ChatGPT chatpot.
