Volcano erupts in Iceland

Volcano erupted for the third time in the Reykjanes peninsula since December, with lava flowing near crucial pipelines close to the Svartsengi power station. Aerial video reveals  a new 3km(1.8m) long fissure, a crack in the Earth’s surface -spraying streams of lava high up into the air. Smoke could be seen in the capital, Reykjavik, 25 miles away. Twenty Thousand people have been urged to limit their hot water  and electricity use as the pipes could take days to rectify, even the Blue Lagoon, Iceland’s top tourist attraction has been forced to close. Cost of video going viral

A video showing a chained lion cub seated in the back of a white open-top Bentley has gone viral. But police in Thailand have arrested a woman whose pet lion was pictured going on a joyride in the streets of Pattaya. The lion was being driven by a Sri Lankan man who has since left the country, and is believed to be a friend of the women, Sawangjit Kosoongnern.  In Thailand it is not illegal to own a lion but it needs to be officially registered. Oppenheimer’s examination of the dawn of the Atomic Age, earned 13 nominations in the 86th Academy Awards on Tuesday. SLIM Soft lands on the Moon

SLIM a Japanese Robot ( Smart Lander for Investigating Moon) has successfully touched down on the Moon despite problems with its solar power system. Japan became the fifth country to soft-land on Earth’s natural satellite, after the US, the Soviet Union, China and India.
